How to become an artist of The Ab Factory
It supports young and established artists, Sardinian and international, the only thing we demand is passion and professionalism.
For this reason we are happy to meet you, but you must help us to do it in the best and most respectful way of your being an artist and of our role as gallerists.
Let us know you, and leave us the time to admire your works, study your history, try to understand and evaluate if we are good for you and your artistic path.
We receive many requests from many artists and practioners from all over Italy and Europe, and this flatters us and fills our hearts with joy because it means that ART is alive, and our vision is shared and supported.
However, time is precious and we need the right amount of time and the right way to know you, so we want to help you not to lose and not wait in vain.
For this you will find below the modalities and a small “vademecum” to get in touch with us, how, where, when and why…
What we love in art and in artist...
They look like normal values, and we like to think that it is obvious to say, but for us they are fundamental…
Without research, vision, commitment and without comparison, sustainable and accessible art can not exist
We work every day for you, we would like you to do the same as artists and you were full-time…
What we don't do...
Oh yes…we are very jealous of our home, and especially careful to our collectors and to what happens to The Ab Factory. So, we’re sorry, but for everything related to art, we do not rent or lend the gallery to third parties or people.
We have a lot of respect for the work of artists and the one of past gallerists, we are young and innovative but old-fashioned for values and ethics. For this reason support our artists, for exhibitions, training, limit editions and events.
Unfortunately we are still small, and the requests are many, thus we can not support you all, but we guarantee that we are working to support as many of you . We are private and therefore for us to keep our promises is a serious and important thing, we hope you would understand.
What we ask you to do to apply
Time is precious for everyone, for you in the first place, take two minutes to see what we do, who we are, which artists we support, which kind of curatorship we propose, to whom we address and how we communicate. Morever, participate in our workshops, come to see our exhibitions, talk with us as a visitor and then try to think if our path would be similar, useful and compatible to yours …be honest with yourself … do not cheat 🙂
We are committed to making this page to help you understand, do the same with us, take a moment to send us updated material like COVER LETER, PORTFOLIO & STATEMENT, CONTACTS & SOCIAL.
Please, do not send us the facebook page, or a hasty message, we really do not deserve it and we risk not following your questions, or doing it just as quickly.
Allow us to take time, and read about who you are and what you do BEFORE we meet , it’s easier for us to support you.
You can send us your documentation, request or proposal, via email at [email protected] or if you have any problem you can send it or bring it physically to The AB Factory in Cagliari.
We will read everything carefully, it is important for us to know that you exist and what you do, and the email serves as a reminder, because we have so many events, initiatives and exhibitions and maybe we can not collaborate now, but tomorrow can be possible…
We know that the wait is exhausting, but our Cultural Advisory meets once a month, and on that occasion we evaluate all requests and proposals. We guarantee that you will receive an answer within 45 days.
We receive numerous requests every day, and for this we want to respect everyone and offer each of you same attention, opportunities and conditions.
Come and visit us in Via Alagon 29 in Cagliari, and visit our gallery, live our events, take part in our workshops, get to introduce yourself… do this when you want as per opening hours and times.
But if you want to propose yourself as an artist, or you want to propose an artistic project, then you have to follow the procedure described above and we also explain why …
We work every day in different initiatives with a very busy schedule, we are often traveling, and the Gallerist and the Cultural Advisory are not always in the gallery or available at all hours of public opening.
Not being able to dedicate time to know you and to study your works and your art, it would be the most wrong and not respectful and professional way we could do to you.
For this we ask you a fact-finding email, to know what you are talking about, what you propose and to be able to give you the maximum attention.
Every day, fortunately, many people enter the gallery, we dedicate time to all as much as possible, but they are collaborators, collectors, customers and art lovers to whom, when and if you will work with us, we would like to dedicate the same attention to telling them about you and your art.
For this, book an appointment, explaining clearly why you would like to meet and with to whom you would like to talk, we will do our best to please you … but I recommend if it is to talk about your art, go back to the first point …!

Limited Editions Art Backers
As for the multiples and limited editions of the Art Backers circuit, the supply chain is different and you can find more information on www.artbackers.com.
We can only anticipate that the requirements are significantly different and provide a path started as an artist and with a following of collectors and national and international visibility.
Art Backers is the first international art publisher, which produces, promotes and sells works of art and limited editions (artist multiples).
It supports artists in the production of Limited Editions, with traditional techniques (serigraphs, etchings, lithographs) and innovative, strictly numbered and hand-signed by the artist with a certificate of authenticity, on fine papers with the highest museum quality.

We are a young, dynamic and “revolutionary” reality founded on ancient and strong values, which acts with great respect both for the artists and for the professional work of the gallerist and of our loyal collectors to whom we reserve attention and quality in the selection of the works.
In our mission we decided to support our artists entirely, helping them from different points of view, from curating to marketing, hosting them during artist residences and supporting them in the production of multiples, up to legal assistance.
Also thanks to the support of Art Backers, an innovative start-up that works with sustainable art and on the issues of certification of works, The AB Factory aims to identify exclusively emerging and established professionals, offering a contribution that can overcome the mere sale with a broader vision commited to a medium-long term on a national and international scale, by using our network and the valuable support of our numerous and qualified partners.
The Cultural Advisory Board is made up of industry experts, art historians, gallery managers, internal and external curators, and representatives of Art Backers, The AB Gallery and the AB Factory cultural association.

However, even if you are not able to join the team of our artists, we are happy to support you by offering training, workshops, laboratories and services for third parties for printing, fine art service, exhibition design and production (outside the AB Factory).
You can participate in the social life of the gallery, we are always happy to know you and be able to talk with our artists and collaborators.
